In the wake of still another violent crime at the dead zone at Kalorama and Champlain, we are now making solid progress on opening up that dead end. I had authored the funding for the construction for this fiscal year. So DDOT now tells us that we will have a construction bid opening June 2, so that actual construction will be underway mid to late July. I appreciate the strong interest that Mayor Fenty has taken on this.

 

Once opened up to traffic, there will be more activity and the area will be less of an invitation to crime.
