Pepco has given me the following information about power outages on Harvard Street NW:

 

There was a manhole fire in the 700 block of Harvard Street. Crews are underground pumping out water from the area of the fire. The damage will be assessed when the water is cleared. About 1600 customers are affected.

 

The outage has also affected traffic signals on Sherman Avenue NW. I went to Sherman Avenue and confirmed that traffic control officers were directing traffic where the lights were out.

 

MPD reports southbound Georgia Avenue is closed. MPD is diverting traffic westbound on Columbia Road, NW. DDOT has been notified.
