Minors In Nightclubs, No Senior Road Tests And Business Relocation Bills Go To Committee Vote

Washington, DC – Three of Councilmember Jim Graham’s (D-Ward One) bills will be voted on in committee next week. The Committee on Public Works and the Environment will vote on:
- Minors in Nightclubs. A bill to keep young people under the age of 18 out of nightclubs, bars, and taverns that serve alcohol, except under very limited circumstances and only by special permission. The bill is named in honor of Taleshia Ford, the 17 year old girl who was killed by gunfire at Smarta Broadway in January, 2007. B17-0088.
- One-Time Relocation. A bill to permit nude dancing establishments re-locate after being displaced by the construction of the new baseball stadium. B17-0109.
- Senior Drivers. A bill to repeal the policy of the Department of Motor Vehicles that requires drivers over the age of 70 to take an additional written and road tests. B17-0144.
The mark-up and vote on these bills will be held in room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building on May 8, 2007 at 11 a.m.
