Washington, DC: Councilmember Jim Graham (D-Ward One) will hold a public roundtable next week on the Mayor’s proposed rules on taxicab meters.
The roundtable will allow the public to comment on the Mayor’s proposal for taxicab fares and other regulations. The Mayor chose to switch from zones to meters on October 17. A federal law required the Mayor to switch to meters by that date, or opt out of the requirement altogether and keep the current zone fare system.
“The roundtable will allow the public to weigh in on this important issue,” said Councilmember Graham.
